Cleansing Tears

Thank you, Lord, for the wee hour awakening today. I see what you did there, too. WHAT? Oh , that’s just how my Jesus makes sure I keep feeding His sheep. Let’s get to work!

In wee hours, I was responding to messages. It is uncanny how certain revelations were born from things I learned in and around “Eric Sins” . We are both praying for restoration of a certain father/son relationship. So much more to expand upon, but God is bringing so many different types of soldiers into my life.

There is another I would like to share. However, there are Biblical reasons for me to make that entry in my handwritten journal. It was a dance which seemed to build up and be cut short. Today, I see it even more clearly. Thank you, Lord, for guarding my tongue.

Father God, you have me in the palm of your hand. I believe you are speaking to her quite differently, just as every relationship is different. It makes logical sense that our relationships with you are all different. You know why I begged for you to send your angels. You heard what I just prayed out loud. In your Timing. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Amicable Arnell spoke to me like Jesus today. First person I saw at the shop. He poured out such encouragement in countless ways. Thank you, Lord for Arnell and his heart. May it belong to you.

The Uber driver brought Crystal and Mo here from the Nashville Rescue mission. What a blessing to help their mission! I met them for the first time not even a half hour before they texted back. They received the encouragement from YOU, beautifully.

Brother Zion is always so kind and jovial. I asked his name today I just said, “brother, forgive me, I have forgotten your name if you have shared in the past”. When he said “Zion”, I raised my right arm and said, “I see you what you did there”. I confidently told him there was NO DOUBT his mama was in The Word. He said, “oh YES!” He shared about his pastor and another man he enjoys learning from, Paul Washer. Noting it for when the time comes to be reminded Zion sent me here.

The floodgates rushed in during extended testimony from Zion about prophecy, demonic warfare, sleep paralysis, standing in the gap and more. This brother needs to go to Texas and a certain home church or find one here. So many are struggling to connect with earnest seekers of the TRUTH in THE BIBLE.

When Zion shared the story of his godmother and the two sons living with her, I could not control sobbing. The mother stabbed her autistic son to death before shooting him. That is not in the paper, linked below. Also not reported is how the mother appeared like a demon in his room before the older son escaped. Mike is the older son and told Zion all of this within a half hour of the murders.

The demons oppressing her tiny cancer consumed and frail body were supernaturally strong to pull such a large man back into the house. Praise God for protecting Mike. Thank you, Lord, for sending Zion to me today.

My Morgan texted.

Knowing my kids as I do, I knew she needed to hear my voice. Thirty seconds is apparently enough.

Oh Jehovah Jireh, how could I ever thank you?

My prayers continued for family and extended family of various varieties. I called my husband at our other store and we prayed in agreement for Morgan’s spiritual protection during these painful circumstances for her losing her beloved cat.

Immediate peace in my heart. The BP leveled and I know my daughter is protected.

Radiant Rebecca visited for the first time ever. Thank you, God, for supporting our business and letting us serve you! Rebecca has a 20 YO son, 15 YO daughter and 16 month baby girl. She suffered a miscarriage last month and the healthcare in the world is corrupted. It broke my heart and I sense it broke God’s too. She was so grateful for someone to just listen and receive her story without question. Doctors treated her terribly.

Talked to my daughter on the phone. What a blessed conversation.

Reasonable Randall was kind, as always. He loves our heart to take care of people.

Crowder Dillon is a Dr Pepper fan. I humbled myself and asked to confirm his name. I said, “dude, you are beyond kind and I keep wanting to call you James. Can you please remind me of your first name? He smiled a super sweet smile and said, it’s actually Dillon James. James is his middle name.

Hearing “James, James and James”. Again, repetition which now reminds me of Moses. It feels like much of what I have been taught the past week was necessary to make my testimony more mature. I stand corrected: ALL of it was necessary. Now, to pray for clarity and for my Master Editor.

Pretty Payton was thrilled to reduce her nicotine intake by 40% today with a North Pina Colada vape. Maybe I will remember our Godversation as the 3P Chat It was just bubbly sweetness and genuine gratitude pouring out of her.

Fantastic study of Zion. Yes, I text myself to keep up with the nudges. Closing our store in 13 minutes. Beyond grateful for this rainy day of All Hallows Eve. Time to clean the counters as if I am doing it for Jesus.

Thank you, Lord, for sending me in the required “refill” via Payton. I love you.

Godversations October 28

First, Sister Margie and the young man from Chattanooga. I mentioned them at the end of the last post.

Margie shared about her extensive travel challenges and joys of seeing her son, James Ezra, married after raising adult children. He has a 13 YO son at home and I found my self praying for little Ezra James, as his name is reversed. Praying for him to see God’s faithfulness. Giggling inside because “James, James and James” sounding like “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” from the Brady Bunch.

Miss Summer visited and immediately told me I was cute today. That particular word keeps being used by many who do not know me to describe me. I was inspired to share the silliness of last Sunday at my daughter’s apartment.

Sweet Summer shared a pinch more and the Holy Spirit moved me to give her Divisible by One, Exterminate the Hate and the poems in “the stack”. She feels irredeemable (her word) and whatever it was that came out of my mouth was used to persuade her otherwise. Praise God! Oh, Jehova Jireh! The Lord WILL provide💜✝️💜

Brother Wyoming Kurt visited for third time in six days. Huge Godversation and he was vulnerable in sharing his PTSD from Desert Storm. He was proud to share his Airborne tattoo on his calf.

While he was preparing to leave pick up his autistic grandson from school, Miss Amber arrived. She has a little nugget of faith. She is an introvert but spoke so sweetly of Wyoming Kurt.

Humbled to learn so much of her story today. She is working two jobs while her partner and his kids rely on her to do what their earthly father will not. He has not worked for over six months. How I long to tell her about Haggai and rebuilding the temple…”get to work” was on my heart. I was directed to be still and listen. Thank you, Jesus, for teaching the petulant child in me obedience!

When the Holy Spirit takes over my tongue, it is always a lesson for me. Usually, it is meant for others, as well. However, there is always something for me to learn. In this case, what Mark shared last night about getting his dad to eat food was applicable to encouraging her husband to see the circumstances through his children’s eyes. He is not a person of faith from what I understand, so therefore, an example he could relate to his own life. I may not be writing where others can understand, but this is what I need to write to remember and honor the moment.

Ultimately, Amber needs to see sacrificial love, agape love, from her partner. I boldly told her that I would be praying for Shawn to be nudged into action. Despite having a tough season of circumstances at our business, I asked if I could bless her day and give her the Orange Mango and GoMax. She was beyond moved by the Holy Spirit, despite the fact she credited me. When the spirit nudges me to bless others, it’s fun to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you, God, for my husband who demonstrates sacrificial love 💜✝️💜

Luxe Joe came in and immediately commented on my countenance. I couldn’t stop smiling. We had a wonderful conversation where I believe the Holy Spirit was working, as well. Joe said he has always been so comfortable in our space and he was a loyal person, regardless, but he loved our store. Some part of me needed to be reminded of our loyal customers. Mark was reminded thru Lebanon Couple and I was personally told by Joe. Thank you, Lord, for another type of generous double portion.

Texas Brenda just left. What a radiant smile! She is visiting her sick 94 (3?) YO Mom and sister. She was thrilled to learn why her disposable was not ideal for her and more. We did enjoy a blessed Godversation. At one point, we both said, “Thank you. God!”

Father God, I know all good things and good knowledge come from you. Thank you for sharpening the discernment tool in my spiritual toolbox. Thank you for blessing us so outrageously today. UNITY. AGAPE. I am listening. You are Holy, Holy, Holy and I love you. I am completely yours.

(Prayer break)

Note: we have done more business at BOTH shops in five hours than we have done on our “good” days in ten hours.

Wowza! Just as I sat down to thank God for the phenomenal day thus far, Miss Angel W calls the shop. She has been visiting our other location for months. Today, of all days, she calls to check in with me. A product was lost in shipment the past two weeks. Well, one of those box a arrived just before she called. In that one box was what she was seeking. it was the sweetest way to tell her “God loves you so much!”

It was such a bubbly Godversation. She had seen me down in my back and she asked me how I was feeling. How awesome the Holy Spirit immediately put the 8/20/24 miracle healing into an explanation she could accept. Sharing Sweet Futina and that healing with her and Brother Leon was so fun! he immediately said “Hallelujah!”

Hallelujah! just received confirmation from Summer.

Dustin and Steve visiting today was special. I had Cousin Nathalie on my heart. Dustin works for a lab and Steve at First Watch. They have been legally married eleven years. Dustin has a giant cross tattooed on his right forearm. Just noting the image for posterity because it will remind me what we discussed. We are all more similar than we are different. For example, I joked with Steve about having a younger husband. When His Timing changes our conversations to Godversation, it will be interesting to see how much God has grown me from today.

Golden Timothy visited next. I could feel a weight on him but he was on the phone. We did not have a chance to talk. I quietly went to get his Golden Tobacco juice. Notable to me, he ordered half the size he typically does. This is small for many people, but it always draws my attention. Whatever “it” may be, something is impacting finances when established habits are changed. He ordered a 60 ml bottle instead of his normal 120.

When Timothy paid, it was with a ladies debit card. I asked if it was his wife’s and he said it was his aunts. He was still on the phone and conversation was limited for efficiency. I asked him to please wait one minute.

I went to the lab and poured another 60 ml. I brought it out and just handed it to him. He told me I did not have to do that. I told him his cross speaks to me differently and sacrificial love has been a residing theme of my last week.

My son called. That entire Godversation was beautiful to me. My son demonstrated great wisdom in some scheduling choices with his dad and how he interacts with his coaches. Lord, thank you for sending Miss Bella to be a Saint. Thank you for preparing her via her Nurse Mom to be empathetic toward GA coaches. Thank you for my wonderful son and his sweet heart describing Bella’s mom, Kim. Praise and more praise. Never enough! I told my son I had specific prayers for him last Monday and he just confirmed many of them were answered. Specific opportunities were added and specific obstacles subtracted. Between that and Morgan currently reading The Five People you meet in Heaven …I believe all those prayers will be answered in His Timing. 💜✝️💜

A new customer entered and typically I would immediately get off the phone. His name is Beaux. Not today, Satan! The answer was to let him know I was sorry for being on the phone, it was not my habit. I explained we had been struggling to get time on the phone with my son. Blake told me to put the phone down and he could wait the one minute it would take.

Shaggy Beaux is endearing in spirit. He told me “No! I think it is so CUTE how you want to talk to him. It is precious. Yessir, I see what you did there!

Sweet Summer returned after she ended work at five. She returned the stack of old writings to me and was truly impacted by the day. She hugged me three times. She said I was a Godsend. We shared more between us. I shared my Godroom post today with her. I prayed over her one near the table over specific issues and again before she left, right at the front door. Since she knew what was on this post today, she knew my day began praying at that very door.

Yes, Lord, the door is wide open.

Spunky Samantha shared her story. Her husband of 19 years left her last year. She had used grandfathers inheritance to pay off their family home. She must now refinance and give her husband half the equity. She is strong in her faith at Life Point Riverdale. Before knowing she had such deep faith, I shared the “ Seek Sunshine” story. We enjoyed a beautiful Godversation. She changed before my eyes from “down and out” to “smiling with light in her eyes”. I know what I saw was the Holy Spirit nudging her heart to accept unconditional love from me, a stranger.

Couldn’t let her pay for that purchase. When God is blessing us like there is no tomorrow, I trust that nudge implicitly.

Fire and Wind

Praise God, my loving husband returned home last night. It was a glorious Sunday from beginning to end. I wrote in my gray leather journal for posterity. The notes are clear enough to write the detailed testimony.

Insert giggle here. Anyone who knows me in the flesh understands I exclude “cheerleader energy”. I am being nudged to see the power of the Holy Spirit from a different perspective. Yes, Jesus can and will sit you down and just set you straight. The theme this year has in great part been to SLOW DOWN.

For now, I welcome anyone who ever sees this humble post to our Smyrna Tn store. We have prayed over this space countless times..,before we even got the keys and the six years since. Today was different.

Praise God. First two customers were Miss Margie and a gentleman wearing this shirt! More sales in first half hour than we typically see by 1 pm. I credit the One True God for blessing us so quickly this morning.

Thank you, God. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Holy Spirit.

Growing Testimony

Father God,

You alone are Holy, Holy, Holy.  You have had this simple incantation in my heart with every variation of punctuation possible the past six weeks.   I could never thank you enough for all you have done, all you are currently doing and all you will surely do in my life.  You know I treasure your promises and how grateful I am for all your provision.   While I have struggled to write “the letter”, you have grown me exponentially through this process since Labor Day.    Silly me, you revealed a beautiful list of 55 big things you have done in my life in January.  While I have written many of those detailed stories for the sake of posterity, I do not have one simple document outlining my personal testimony.   Please help me share the biggest pieces in such a way that your hand on my life is evident.  I ask this in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Today is October 21, 2024; I am currently 56 years old. To say the past few years of my life have been supercharged with spiritual growth and experiences would be a massive understatement.   It takes my breath to consider all that God has done for me, through me, and with me my entire life.  However, those words are especially true since a near-death experience two and a half years ago.   This entire year is filled with writing out so very many different details and miracles. How could I NOT be overwhelmed with praise and gratitude?

Thank you, God, for getting Miss Dottie into the store today to share her testimony.  The value of five minutes and her life are evident in her joy from you.  I love, love, LOVE thow you timed her season of growth from her NDE July 3, 2016, with how you were moving in my own life at that time. I just love how fond you seem to be of giving me dates that are easy to remember…so I will not forget your hand in all of it.

Ethiopia is significant

Copying from here: https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/encyclopedia-of-the-bible/Ethiopia

An impromptu conversation with Brother Philip today resulted in us talking about the significance of Ethiopia. We were talking about Solomon and his idolatrous wives which lead to his downfall. I shared the “Jamal and Katrina” story from May with him, as well.

Lord, I believe the Bible is your inerrant Word. I am so grateful for all you have done, are doing and will surely do. I aim to cling to Your Word in every circumstance. That is never a question. Learning about the types of angels listed in Ethiopia’s Book of Jubilees made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I had literally just listened to Don Dickerman’s sermon on Angels, after discussing Ethiopia with Brother Philip this morning. Whenever things like this occur organically, it is natural to first think it is from you. Lord, I am asking today for discernment when reading any testimonies from the past. Leaving this here as a bookmark for where you have my spirit today.

No doubt, in YOUR TIME, you will direct me back here for one reason or the other. Until then, I will wait. Learning about how Ethiopia in the Bible is different territory than Ethiopia of today, being reminded of man-made time changes and now this introduction to four types of angels (which my spirit accepted, and my flesh halted) in Jubilees are all things which must be laid down before you. Please teach me and help my heart to understand whatever it might be you are teaching me. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

What a blessing! I don’t even have to know WHY you want this noted. Obedience just does it. Thank you, God.

ETHIOPIA ē’ thĭ ō’ pĭ ə. Nubia, a country in the N Sudan, S of Egypt.

1. Terminology. In the OT, the KJV sometimes transliterates כּ֥וּשׁ as “Cush” (Gen 10:6781 Chron 1:8910Isa 11:11). However, the KJV usually trs. by “Ethiopia.” The KJV transliterates כּוּשִׁ֔י as “Cushi” (2 Sam 18:2122233132).

The RSV transliterates the Heb. as “Cush” (Gen 2:1310:6-81 Chron 1:8-10Ezek 38:5) and trs. “Ethiopia” elsewhere. Also the RSV trs. כּוּשִׁ֔י (2 Sam 18:21-233132) and כֻּשִׁ֖ית (Num 12:1) as “Cushite,” but elsewhere renders “Ethiopian.”

In the NT, “Ethiopian” trs. Αἰθίοψ, G134, whose etymological meaning is prob. “dark-faced” (Acts 8:27).

2. Location. The Biblical Ethiopia is Nubia, in southernmost Egypt and the N Sudan, not the modern Ethiopia (also called Abyssinia). Ethiopia is often associated with Egypt in the Bible (e.g. Ps 68:31Isa 20:3-5Ezek 30:45). More specifically Ethiopia is located S of Egypt (Judg 1:10) and S of Syene (Ezek 29:10), modern Aswan, the southernmost important city of Egypt. This location of Ethiopia agrees with the Egyp. references to K’š (which corresponds to Heb. כּ֥ושׁ) and with Herodotus II. 29.

3. History. The first historical reference to an Ethiopian in the Bible is the incident of the Cushite (i.e. Ethiopian) slave who carried to David the news of Absalom’s death (2 Sam 18:21-233132).

There were Ethiopian mercenaries in the army of Shishak, a Libyan king of Egypt, when he invaded Pal. about 918 b.c. (2 Chron 12:3).

An attack on Judah by Ethiopians and Libyans (2 Chron 14:9-15), led by Zerah the Ethiopian, was repulsed by King Asa (913-873 b.c.). These attackers may have been mercenaries in the Egyp. army settled in southern Pal. by Pharaoh Shishak. Possibly these mercenaries are also the Ethiopians near the Arabs (2 Chron 21:16), though some scholars think the reference is to the close contact of the S Arabians with Africans across the Red Sea.

2 Kings 19:9 and Isaiah 37:9 mention Tirhakah’s (the king of Ethiopia) attempt to check Sennacherib’s invasion of Pal. in the time of King Hezekiah. The Assyrians mockingly called Tirhakah “a bruised reed” (2 Kings 18:21 KJV) and defeated him at Eltekeh. In Egypt, Tirhakah was again defeated by the Assyrian king Esar-haddon and retired to Ethiopia. These defeats of Tirhakah may be referred to by Isaiah (Isa 20:3-5). Tirhakah ruled about 689-664 b.c. as the third and last Pharaoh of the Twenty-fifth, or Ethiopian Dynasty of Egypt. The Ethiopian control of Egypt under this dynasty explains why Ethiopia was called the “strength” of Thebes, Egypt’s southern capital (Nah 3:9). This brief Ethiopian empire included Egypt for about fifty years. Tirhakah’s nephew and successor as king of Ethiopia, Tanut-Amon, was defeated by the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal, who destroyed Thebes in 663 b.c. (Nah 3:8).

The Letter of Aristeas 13 states that Pharaoh Psammetichus II (593-588 b.c.) used Jewish mercenaries in his campaign against Ethiopia, which is also mentioned by Herodotus II. 161. He or a Pharaoh soon after, settled a Jewish garrison on Elephantine Island to guard the border between Egypt and Ethiopia.

Ebed-melech, who secured Jeremiah’s release from the cistern (Jer 38:7-13), was an Ethiopian eunuch who held a high position in the household of King Zedekiah of Judah (597-587 b.c.). He believed in God, and Jeremiah promised that he would be safe in the coming capture of Jerusalem (39:15-17).

King Ahasuerus of Persia (usually identified with Xerxes, 486-465 b.c.) included Ethiopia at one extreme of his empire (Esth 1:18:9 and in the Additions of the Apocrypha, 13:1; 16:1). Darius I of Persia also mentions Ethiopia in his list of provinces.

The Ethiopians who were to follow Antiochus Epiphanes, king of the N, or Syria (175-163 b.c.), after his conquest of Egypt (Dan 11:43) may refer to mercenaries in his army. The exact meaning, however, is uncertain in this context.

Sibylline Oracles V. 194 mentions the capture of Syene by the Ethiopians. This may refer to an expedition into Egypt sent by an Ethiopian queen with the title Candace, in 24 b.c. (Strabo, XVII. i. 54).

Acts 8:27 mentions “Candace the queen of the Ethiopians.” Candace was a Nubian royal title, prob. corresponding to “queen mother.” The queen who ruled at Meroe (then the Ethiopian capital) with this title at that time was Amantitere (a.d. 25-41). See Candace. That her treasurer should visit Jerusalem and should be reading Isaiah is not surprising in the light of Jewish contacts with Nubia. Some have suggested that he was a proselyte or even a Jew. See Ethiopian Eunuch.

4. Features. The Bible several times refers to “the rivers of Ethiopia” (Isa 18:1Zeph 3:10), presumably the Nile, the Blue and White Niles, and the Atbara. The papyrus boats used on these rivers (Isa 18:2) are pictured in Egyp. reliefs and paintings, and they are still used in modern Ethiopia. The merchandise of Ethiopia (Job 28:19Isa 45:14) included the topaz as a precious product of that land. Egyptian records list among the imports from Ethiopia: gold, precious stones, incense, ebony, ivory, ostrich feathers and eggs, leopard skins, greyhounds, cattle, gazelles, bows, shields, and slaves. Isaiah (18:2) calls the Ethiopians “tall and smooth.” Not only are some of the Sudanese tribes tall, but they also have little body hair, and very smooth skin. Jeremiah (13:23) implies that the Ethiopian’s skin is black. The prophet also (46:9) lists Ethiopians with shields among the soldiers of the Egyp. army; small wooden models of shield-bearing Nubian soldiers have been found in Egyp. tombs.

5. Prophecies about Ethiopia. Some prophecies predicted that Jewish exiles in Ethiopia would return to Pal. (Isa 11:11Ps 87:4). Isaiah (43:3) expected that Persia would take Ethiopia as reward, poetically called a ransom, for freeing the Jewish captives. Several passages speak of coming judgment on Ethiopia (Isa 20:34Ezek 30:459Zeph 2:12). Ezekiel (38:5) includes Ethiopians among the forces of Gog that will attack Israel in the end times. Sibylline Oracles III. 320 evidently misunderstood the geography of the Ezekiel passage and misplaced Gog in Ethiopia. According to Amos 9:7, God is concerned with the Ethiopians as with Israel. Psalm 68:31Isaiah 45:14, and Zephaniah 3:10 mention the conversion of the Ethiopians and their inclusion in the kingdom of God.

I AM HEALED

Sister Futina, I thank God for you and for sending His Helper thru your hands in your healing prayer declaring the blood of Jesus over my entire back being “out”. Our visits are almost always late Friday afternoons. Today was the third time you visited “off your normal planned schedule. “Smiling to read my one-minute devotional and share it.💜✝️💜

The first time he sent you early was the one Friday I had to leave early. I gave you the prayer journal page for that day. This was in February, I believe, before your grand baby arrived in March.

I will need to check my journal to see what was going on the one Saturday you brought me flowers. I think that was the second you visited “off schedule”. In this moment, I can’t recall. I remember God was moving and I was knee-deep in Deuteronomy.

Today, I will remember forever. I could never forget this date. Today was the third time you have visited off schedule and it is a Tuesday…a weekday you have never visited before. Again, I was not supposed to even enter the shop today. I was scheduled to be home and off work the entire day. THIS DAY, the one marking my daddy in Heaven for fifteen years.

Only an employee emergency could have changed our plans today. Well, we both know God can and will make everything work according to His purpose for us. Again, look at todays One Minute with God devotional I sent earlier. Planning. God must surely chuckle at us children. 😇

I showed you Mark’s post-it note about praying for me all day. Immediately, you held me and prayed in the Spirit. I must write down that detail about the post-it note. Something about His power displayed only through genuine prayer.

Sister, I praise Jehovah-Rapha for answering your prayer for healing my back. I praise God for revealing something to my heart when your tongue was claimed by the Spirit. Please know it was magnificently bright, beautiful and POWERFUL-FILLED.

It will be exciting to see what He does with what was revealed. I am so glad I told you about Mark saying “it will be fun to see what God does or why He wants us at the two shops today.”

The power of healing the physical ailment is surreal. I have never felt anything quite like it. I am testifying to every person who enters my path today that Miss Futina prayed over me and I AM HEALED!

I praise Jehovah-Jireh for providing you the discount on your tire and all the ways God is providing for you in this current financial situation.

The chill bumps are STILL on my arms two hours later. After your visit, I have enjoyed a long Godversation with another brother in Christ. Remind me to tell you his story of being healed for one day- and learning to pray “more clearly”. I am sitting here in complete awe and gratitude. So grateful you prayed in perfect harmony while calling the angels to fight for me.

I love you. 💜✝️💜

Amazing Everything

Over the weekend, my husband and I decided we are going to apply to be on The Amazing Race. It would be fun to be Ambassadors for Christ around the globe, together. I am not sure what finally moved my husband. I shared with him that I had calculated less than ten percent of all contestants have been 50 or over during the filming. I also pointed out a few teams we have watched, like the Duphiney Brothers and the Pollacks. Between us, we have so many different skills and talents, it would be a blast! Thinking of how to present a three-minute audition tape is fun, too. Feeling like a bonafide cheerleader, this is what I posted extra-early on Facebook:

Despite all of that excitement, people will forever excite me even more. Yesterday, I had three extra-special visitors to the shop. My sweet lifelong friend, JoJo, came to visit in the early afternoon. We had such a great conversation about how our friendship trees get pruned and how we serve as examples for our children. Miss Wendy popped in during that visit and it was really good to hug her, despite not having an opportunity for a meaningful Godversation. Finally, Miss Futina popped in just before 7 pm to share my prayer over her was answered.

JoJo brought me a beautiful smooth stone with a cross etched in it. She reminded me she still has the silver toned “laughter” rock I gave her decades ago. Wendy gave me a much-needed hug from her heart. Miss Futina brought me a heavenly candle. I told her she must stop bringing me presents, as I have the bird/cacti and the last flowers still at the shop! She told me she simply HAD to see me FACE TO FACE when she shared her daughter and granddaughter have moved home with her! She said “your prayer” was answered. In that moment, I knew I needed to remind her that we prayed, IN AGREEMENT, out loud and TOGETHER. I do so love encouraging others, especially those who really need the reminder their voice matters.

Futina and I had a wonderful Godversation, as always. I shared that I am still knee-deep in Deuteronomy and only up to Chapter 29. I was not surprised to learn Deuteronomy and Revelation are her favorite books of the Bible. She asked me how I knew Revelation was her second favorite, as it came out of my mouth a half second or so before she said it. I told her I didn’t have a clue and reminded her we know the one who does. Overall, just a very sweet and meaningful exchange about being grateful for the things we don’t often think to express gratitude.

Thank you, Lord, for all you are doing that we fail to recognize. Thank you for bringing Futina’s daughter and grandbaby Jaylee home. Thank you for all your provision and protection in all our lives. Thank you for helping our business this week, too. We love you. Today, I ask for special dispensation for sweet Elizabeth in Florida. May she have peace and joy with whatever the oncologists shared yesterday. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Deuteronomy

Yesterday, I spent the bulk of the day in DEUT 4-DEUT 17. I shared a pinch of it with Joyce, Pam and Mark. Since we discussed my DEUT DEEP DIVE Wednesday night at dinner, I sent this to Joyce.

Since I wrote my notes in a steno pad yesterday, I am working through on online study of DEUTERONOMY here at the shop. Imagine my joy to read “my summary” of my study yesterday within their text:

“Because of their lack of faith and obedience, forty years were spent accomplishing what should have been accomplished in only eleven days. Hopefully, we do not reach the end of our lives and realize that much of it has been wasted because of disobedience.”

My summary also included the “forgotten blessings” of the Israelites. For example, in DEUT 8:4, he reminds the 70 or so, “Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during those forty years.” Food, water and shelter are necessary and were clearly provided by God. So often, we all fail to give thanks for past and even current provisions.

For example, when we were blessed with our current home, I reminded my husband of how we thanked God every day coming down the stairs. My husband smiled and said he was directed to thank God for his vehicle recently. He followed it up with joking about how I fell down the twelve steps two years ago.

Yes, thank you, Lord, for NOT letting me stumble!

Whether we laugh or cry, it is always good to share what we are studying and how it applies to our daily living. We can ALL benefit from increasing our gratitude, praise and worship!

Unable to get Pam on the phone, I messaged her. Suffice it to share, her response included many challenges they have between a broken mower, no water and fire damage repair. it’s clear to me God did not want us to talk. He wanted me to share His Word.

I also shared with my husband my new appreciation for the way Moses repeats the facts, something which once caused me issues. As a parent, I understand the value of repetition. Thinking of Moses, I was diverted back to the sibling rivalry he shared with Aaron and Miriam in Numbers 11:35-12:16. His patience for 40 years in the desert and another 40 in the desert could only be explained by God’s very real presence in his life.

Today, I am focused on listening to my favorite helper and ensuring I am on Kingdom-focused tasks. When “Country” visited the shop today and shared his mother had passed, I could feel the weight of the world on him. I was nudged to run out to his vehicle and share something kind about him from another customer, Heide. She thought the “red-headed bearded man” was attractive. While she didn’t wish me to share several weeks ago, I trusted the Spirit and shared the loving thought. He was genuinely grateful and uplifted by the exchange. Whether he and Heide ever become friends or anything else is not up to me. Still, it was rather sweet showing him her photo with her ginger kiddos and his response about his own seven-year old ginger headed son.

Thank you, Lord, for continuing to use me as a catalyst for your purposes. Thank you for ALL the provisions and for keeping your promises. I pray you reveal to me anything for which I have not yet acknowledged gratitude. Thank you for “worshiping and worshipping” and letting that be an inside joke between us. I love how I hear you and understand you better in your Word. I could never thank you enough for letting your son, Jesus, die for our sins, especially my own. I ask to be convicted of that which I may not know in His precious name. I also ask for the protection of Psalm 91 for Ed, Rod, Katrina, Elizabeth and Heide’s daughter. Amen.

Katrina and The Waves

Miss Katrina has been back in twice since the last time I wrote about her returning for a second visit in one day. Today is Thursday, May 23, 2024, and she shared personal details about her family. The girls are 14 and 21; the oldest attends SCAD to draw story boards and things of that nature. The long game is to create sequential art or do something in anime. Her husband is both French and Jewish by birth. Katrina is 51. We have long since sorted out our deeper spiritual journeys were started 6-7 years ago.

Today was a deeper dive into abandonment issues caused by absent fathers. I shared about my dinner with Joyce and my DEUTERONOMY DEEP DIVE in progress. Thank you, Lord, for putting it on my heart to suggest Miss Katrina can honor her own boundaries, while allowing the possibility of letting her girls meet their maternal grandfather. Such boldness and conviction only come from you. For all you do, have done and will do in my life, you know I am forever grateful. Thank you for showing me how to truly love others in word and action.

Katrina sees His Light on me. She told me she also sees it on Lane, her banker at Pinnacle. I shared that after our last extended Godversation, it was clear I was to study Deuteronomy in entirety. Today, she mentioned that Lane had studied and deduced Solomon was in West Africa. While I have touched the basics of Alkebulan (Africa), there is so much more to learn and understand. His time, not mine.

To that end, Wednesday nights are the best time to enjoy $9.99 sirloin specials at Legends Steakhouse. Joyce and I agreed saving $16 was a blessing, as the sirloins are normally $17.99! Truly, it was a wonderful Godversation, breaking of bread and sharing REAL BREAD. Our Bible Study group was canceled because Terri’s dad isn’t well. Then, I scheduled time for Brandie that night. She had to cancel for work. So, it was really divine timing for us to be available in the same window of time.

I asked Joyce to look at the website she had sent me to deduce how she felt seeing the images. I don’t need to share them here or say anything negative. I am just acknowledging we were in agreement about the images and tuned into the same shared spirit. Rather than divert any more energy to the “dynasty” or “Harfouche” tangents, I am thanking God for feeding me the best things this week. When I think of all I have learned since Wednesday night, I am overwhelmed in the best of ways.

God is good all the time.

Roots and Wings

This morning, I looked at old Facebook memories from this date. I shared the awesome ones with Mark before sharing the sad memory of losing our tri-colored piece of heaven last year. That said, the understand that my husband does not connect to dates the way I do with my children. We all miss our sweet beagle girl, Sunny. The posted memories flooded my mind and spirit with many thoughts.

Driving to work, the Good Lord returned me to the subject which has been somewhat nagging me for two weeks.

Commercials on the Christian radio station felt extra-long in duration. I wanted another song and pressed the scan button to go the next station. Typically, it’s another Christian station. Today, it was a country station and Mary Chapin Carpenter singing “I feel lucky today.” I took a little clip of the song playing and sent a love message to Cassie in Louisiana.

Since I am at the shop, I immediately looked at my One Minute with God devotional for the day. God’s response is always scripture. Today was perfect. The first verse of the first Psalm. “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers“, indeed! The current culture of so much “scoffing” is bringing bile to my mouth.

While there is no “location or time change” evident in this post, I am now at home. My husband relieved me at 3:00 and we talked until I finally left around 4:15. As he was arriving, Miss Katrina and I were concluding our second Godversation of the day. Miss Katherine also visited today. Just so I don’t forget, her last name begins with my first initial and is the name of a president. Miss Katrina returned just as I was finishing a chat with Katherine. She told me was compelled to return because there was something she was meant to share with me. I am not sure how long we were talking, but I would guesstimate an hour or so. She shared about Kumbaya meaning “come by here” and how it was engraved in Hebrew on the backs of the pews in the first black churches. She shared so much more, but that is for another day.

What matters most is the plethora of topics broached with Katrina were all familiar to my husband. I had zero qualms sharing the depth of the conversation, despite my lack of knowledge. My husband is one of many who would confirm that this is not how I typically behave in my flesh. Instead, it was all somehow peaceful and exciting to share in the same breath. Only the Holy Spirit has that impact on me.

It’s very clear to me in this moment why the Holy Spirit sent Katrina back to me today. This is bigger than “sunshine” or “hurricanes”. The “quotes” are key words which will remind me of this day.

Thank you, Lord, for sending me one of your angels today with Katrina. Thank you for redeeming me and this process of sanctification. Thank you for your promises and your provision. I am so much more than grateful, but I know you know the depth. I accept your invitation to deep dive into Deuteronomy with a “new lens”. As humbled as I am, please plant YOUR TRUTH and YOUR SPIRIT into my heart as I open your Word. I ask this in Jesus’ sweet name. Amen.
